The concept of re-using and re-purposing items from the past is nothing new, in fact it has been happening for centuries. The throw away ‘flat pack’ era we now live in means demand for mass produced items is now commonplace in most homes and wardrobes nationwide.
Inspired by this, local lad Joe Chaffer decided he would offer an alternative solution.
Joe was surrounded by his mother’s love for all things Antique from an early age and after spending the last 12 years in London pursuing a career with various premium menswear brands, Joe rekindled a deep rooted passion for antique furniture and a new found love for vintage designer clothing.
What started as a hobby, collecting and restoring pieces for his own home quickly developed into an obsession and Joe regularly sources ‘one off’ antiques for various business owners and private collectors.
Joe secured the old auction rooms at his local pub The Murrell Arms in October – ‘The Murrell’ is a proper English pub – founded in 1866 and keeping a lot of its original Victorian heritage, this combined with friendly locals and a great selection of beers, it seemed the perfect base for Joe to serve local cliental as well as a base to courier goods nationwide.
